The Rock 12/16 volt Battery - Maintainer-Charger. Charges and maintains all The Rock 12-volt and 16-volt batteries. Charger can be used on other manufactured batteries including Gel Cell, Lead Acid or Wet-Deep Cycle.

The Rock Battery Charger Recharges our batteries in less than 15 minutes with average voltage usage under racing conditions. Solid state LED indicators show the current flow and reads READY when charged.

Our battery Maintainer and Charger allow you to run your water pump and electric fans at the track without draining your battery. The 55 amp output regulates voltage flow to prevent overcharging. Ideal for maintaining peak voltage at the track as well as recharging your battery between events.

The RC12V Battery Charger has 3 basic programmable modes for charging batteries. In addition this charger is capable of doing so at two separate voltage levels for 12 and 16 volt batteries. This charger can be set to charge batteries for a period of time in each mode or do so automatically.

Turbo Mode for charging AGM and High Performance batteries

Regular Mode for charging Flooded Lead Acid Batteries

Soak Mode for topping off batteries, trickle charging, and to protect from overcharging.

VOLTAGE 16v Enabled

The RC12V battery charger is designed to operate in 12v mode by default. However, this model is designed to charge 16 volt batteries as well. 16V Mode changes the voltage from 12 volt applications to 16 volt applications. 16 Volt Mode charging has the same Turbo, Regular, and Soak modes but does so at different voltage levels to compensate for these batteries.

 Button Instructions:   MANUAL TURBO MODE

Hold both black buttons down to Access Turbo Mode. After the buttons are released you will be able to move the timer for minutes up or down.

MANUAL SOAK MODE: Hold both black buttons down again to Access Soak Mode. After the buttons are released you will be able to move the timer for minutes up or down.

Exit Modes: Hold both buttons down again to exit all Modes.

 Charging 16 Volt Batteries

Hold both black buttons down, the LCD will display Turbo minutes, continue to hold buttons down and the display will read 16 Volt enabled. Use the different mode instructions to set minutes.

MICROPROCESSOR CONTROLLED TECHNOLOGY, Utilizes EPROM technology and a patented design microprocessor controlled circuitry. In short, it provides you a fully automatic, hands-off battery charger.

The ROCK 12v/16v charger is a dual purpose charger for both 12 and 16 volt batteries and was designed and built specifically for the Auto Racing Industry.   The “Battery Type Switch” (found on the electronic control board) can be set for any type of lead acid battery including: sealed, (AGM absorb glass mat), gel cell, wet/deep cycle and applied glass mat as The Rock 12 and 16 volts batteries. Switch from 12 volt to 16 volt operation to recharge The Rock 16 volt battery.  Always attach the clips to each of the outside posts while charging The Rock 3-post 12/16v battery.

Never charge a 12 Volt battery in the 16 Volt setting.

The upper (4) Red LEDs on the front of the charger indicate at what output amperage rate the battery is charging.  Once the battery achieves 80% of its capacity the Red LEDs will have decreased and the Yellow 80% LED will turn On. When the battery is fully charged and ready for service the Green LED will indicate Ready.

The Automatic Hibernate mode is for long storage and shuts the charger down after 24 hours and applies a recharge cycle after every thirty days. If within the time frame the battery losses capacity because of a vehicle load within the 30 day period the charger will come out of the Hibernator stage, and again begin recharging the battery. The Rock charger has a 30 amp output rating assuring the fastest recharge time.

NOTE: If you are charging with a portable generator Always shut the charger Off FIRST and then turn the generator Off, especially any generator under 1400 watts.

As a safety feature, the charger will NOT output or begin charging unless it can read battery voltage.

Always make sure the charger is properly connected to the battery.

Take all safety precautions while using The Rock charger, as outlined in the Battery Charger Owner’s Manual packaged with your charger.
